The short response
Criticism of Israeli government policy is not automatically antisemitic. Targeting Jews as Jews, using antisemitic stereotypes or blaming Jewish people collectively is a different matter.
The evidence
The IHRA working definition explicitly distinguishes ordinary criticism of Israel from antisemitism. It also identifies collective blame and conspiracy claims about Jews as examples of antisemitism. Assess the actual words and context: scrutiny of a government does not become hatred of a people merely because it is forceful.
Why the argument does not follow
This conflates a state or government with Jewish people as a whole. The distinction matters in both directions.
